Mary Woodward presents "Notre Dame, Rising from the Ashes.”
Friday, February 28th at 1 PM
Millions around the world gasped as the fire on April 15, 2019 engulfed the roof and spire of the cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris. During this presentation, we will follow the history of this hallowed ground, from the first cathedral on the site in the 6th century to the Notre-Dame we knew as a masterpiece of French Gothic architecture, built between the 12th and 14th centuries.
And now, after an astonishing five year restoration effort funded by millions of people from around the world, Notre-Dame is open again. By all accounts, it is a breathtaking and glorious achievement! We will look inside and see what has been recreated on the banks of the Seine River in Paris for humankind to enjoy for centuries to come.
Mary C. Woodward has spent more than 40 years in the museum and historic home business, having earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees in Art History.
