FOR ADULTS Massachusetts Center for the Book 2024 Reading Challenge Join the challenge! Stop by and pick up a list of specific monthly book challenges for 2024. Read a book each month, fill out an online form about the book, and have a chance to win a prize at the end of the year! YPL Book Group The YPL Book Group, led by Leslie Altman, meets the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2 PM. No meeting in July. New Book Group members are always welcome and refreshments are served. Neighborhood Book Group, led by Rick Woods, meets the second Thursday of the month at 4 PM in the Gale Room. No meeting July or August. Story Fence (Behind the library) Our story fence returns for the summer. Please stop by to read the story (after June 15th) and enjoy our lovely backyard. Click here for details on children's events. ________________ FOR EVERYONE YPL Chess Club — NEW! Thursday, July 20th at 4:30 PM (No meeting July 4th.) First and Third Thursday of the month. Come play a game (or two) with fellow chess players. All levels welcome, with instruction and strategy suggestions from Ralph Menconi -- neighbor, former educator, and YPL corporator. For adults and children (ages 8 and up, please). Please call the library to let us know you will be attending. Also, please bring a portable chess board and pieces if you have one.
